Hello,
As you may have recently heard, Google has announced the sun-setting of the Google+ social network, effective April 2, 2019. Click here to read the formal announcement from Google.
We wanted to take this opportunity to explain how this will impact your clients who are currently enrolled in our Social Media and/or Reputation Management programs with this network.
What does this mean for your clients?
If we are currently posting to a Google+ page on behalf of your, client as part of a Social Media or Reputation Management package, we will cease posting content to and managing their Google+ page effective March 1, 2019.
What happens to my client’s Google+ page once you stop posting content to it?
On April 2nd, Google+ profile pages will be shut down, and Google will begin deleting content from all Google+ accounts. This process will take a while, and some information may be present during this time, but will eventually all be removed.
Does this impact my client’s Google Maps and address listing online?
The sun-setting of the Google+ network will not impact your client’s Google Map listing(s). Though these two Google products are often confused, Google map listings are separate from the Google+ social network. The mapping and address portion is called Google My Business.
Since you are no longer posting to Google+, will Amplified be posting to an alternate network in its place?
At this time, we will not be replacing Google+ with another option, but we are continuously looking for ways to bring the highest quality product suite to our clients. No adjustments will be made to our current rates for the removal of this network, as the content being syndicated to the network is still being published to the other social platforms within the social and reputation programs.
As always, if you have any questions please let us know!
